RWC-340B recently submitted a written request to HHS Secretary Azar that asks that HHS use its authority to waive regulatory requirements to allow  Ryan White Clinics to use program income to treat individuals who suffer from opioid addiction but do not have HIV/AIDS.  The Administration has declared a Public Health Emergency to address the opioid crisis, which allows federal agencies to waive regulations to address the crisis.  RWC-340B argued that “Ryan White clinics are equipped to help address the opioid addiction crisis and can do so with a simple waiver of requirements related to the use of the non-federal funds that they earn by providing grant services.” A copy of RWC-340B’s letter to Secretary Azar and the accompanying memo can be found here.
